Young people who like to dabble with sidewalk chalk are invited to show off their skills in the fourth annual Oneida County Youth Bureau Sidewalk Art Contest.

The event will be held throughout the county the week of July 9 in partnership with area youth-serving agencies.

Children in age specific groups — 5 to 7, 8 to 10, 11 to 13 and 14 to 18 — will have the opportunity to draw a positive scene on a single sidewalk slab with sidewalk chalk.

Individual winners chosen from each municipality and agency will compete in the finals July 19 on the sidewalks in front of Pratt Institute at Munson-Williams- Proctor in Utica. Rain date is July 20. For more information, contact Tom Giruzzi at the Youth Bureau, 798-5027.
