ONEIDA — A Swetman Avenue man was charged Thursday with failing to properly care for several animals and leaving trash around his property.

Dennis N. Wright Jr., 32, was charged with animal cruelty, animal abuse and a violation of the city trash ordinance, Oneida Police Chief David Meeker said. While he abandoned and failed to care for several animals, Wright was found to have trash consisting of tires, wood, plastic and other garbage on the property, police said. He will appear in City Court June 19.
