The body that was found in north Utica with a gunshot wound to the chest Wednesday night has been ruled a suicide.
Police said an autopsy Thursday on the adult male revealed the gunshot wound to be self-inflicted. The identity of the victim was not released.
Authorities said the body was discovered in a front yard on Mapledale Avenue by a man out for a walk at about 9:18 p.m. Wednesday. Mapledale Avenue is a residential neighborhood located north of the Thruway.
