A 22-year-old man is accused of taking his girlfriend’s cell phone before she could call for help during a domestic dispute on East Bloomfield Street.
Police said Jamar T. Zwiefach, of 332 E. Bloomfield St., slapped his 21-year-old girlfriend twice in the face during a dispute at his residence at 9:30 p.m. May 11. In a statement to police, the victim said Zwiefach was upset after he found her texting another person on her cell phone.
When the victim tried to use her phone to call 9-1-1, police said Zwiefach took it away from her.
Zwiefach is charged with one count each of second-degree harassment and fourth-degree mischief, police stated. Zwiefach was scheduled to appear for arraignment in City Court today.
