County starts evening immunization clinics

The Oneida County Health Department’s evening immunization clinics will begin this month, and starting in June, all evening clinics will be by appointment only.

Starting on May 21, to schedule an appointment for an evening June clinic, go to www.ocgov.net. Free mammograms, PAP smears and colorectal cancer screenings are available for uninsured and under-insured residents of Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties. Individuals must meet eligibility guidelines. For more information about the Cancer Services Program, call 798-5248.

All Oneida County residents may attend the following clinics:

¿ Immunization evening clinics are held May through October. HMO participants must have prior approval.

Oneida County Health Department, 300 W. Dominick St.: 1-3 p.m. Tuesday; and from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Oneida County Health Department, 406 Elizabeth St., Utica: 1-3 p.m. Monday and Thursday

¿ Lead Screening Clinics for children ages 1-6 by appointment only call 798-5842.

¿ TB clinics by appointment only, call Utica at 798-5748.

Oneida County Health Department, 300 W. Dominick St.: 1-3 p.m. Tuesday.

Oneida County Health Department, 406 Elizabeth St., Utica: 9:30-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. first Tuesday of the month; 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday.

¿ Sexually Transmitted Diseases Clinic, no appointment necessary except for Friday.

All appointments in Rome at 301 W. Dominick St.: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 15; 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 2, 9, 16 and 23; and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, for an appointment call 356-4755.

Utica Office, 617 South St.: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 15; 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

WIC Breastfeeding Class is available. Call 790-0017 to schedule an individualized appointment. An interpreter is available 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. May 16.

New in Rome is the Breastfeeding Cafe at Trinity Church, 215 W. Court St. on the second and fourth Mondays: noon to 2 p.m. May 14; and noon to 2 p.m. May 28. For more information, call 269-2042.

The Breastfeeding Cafe at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2222 Genesee St., Utica, is open 4-6 p.m. May 2; noon to 2 p.m. May 9; noon to 2 p.m. May 16; and 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 23.
