JOHNSTOWN — The Rome Free Academy boys lacrosse squad improved to 2-0 with a 4-2 triumph over host Colonie Central in a Coaches Vs. Cancer matchup on Saturday.

Michael Mahl, Jake Gulla, Rich Stapleton and Conner Richie each scored a goal for the Black Knights, while Randy Linderman added two assists. Goalkeeper RJ Ferrucci recorded 12 saves in net and allowed the two Colonie goals from Andrew Hooten and Chris West. Colonie goaltender Brandon Dedec picked up 10 saves.
