CLINTON — With a new coach and some key returning players, Clinton High School’s varsity girls basketball team is looking to make a rebound.

First-year coach Elaine Hogan said she’s excited to help build the program back.

“Last year was the first year for a varsity team in a couple of years,” Hogan said. “We have a mix of players with experience at this level and some newcomers that are starting to gel. They are a hard-working, team-oriented group of ladies. We are looking forward to improving our fundamentals every day and being competitive in all of our games.”

Returning players are junior Megan Bremer, 5-foot-10 senior Lauren Chmielewski, senior Giovanna Constantino, senior Audrey Gale, sophomore Mariah Seward, sophomore Gianna Trunfio and sophomore Maddi Walters. Newcomers are juniors Ella Morse and Hanna Morse and sophomores Sydney Evans and Hannah Slawson.

Last year’s record for the Lady Warriors was 6-14 overall and 2-6 in the Center State Conference

Clinton’s season opener is Friday, Nov. 30 at home against New York Mills in a 7 p.m. start.
