OFA offers farmers market coupons to area seniors
Oneida County Office for the Aging & Continuing Care is reminding local seniors that coupons are available for farmers markets throughout the area.
Farmers Market Coupons will be available to low income seniors. Those with questions may call Oneida County Office for the Aging and Continuing Care at 315-798-5456, extension 4, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Age Requirement — All participants must be age 60 or older and have proof of age if needed.
Eligibility Requirements — Participants must not have received coupons from another source.
One coupon booklet per single person household.
Two coupon booklets per married couple, but each must sign for a booklet.
POA can pick up coupons for a senior but must bring paperwork showing them as Powers Of Attorney — no paperwork, no coupons.
Participants must be receiving or eligible for one of the following programs or meet the income requirements: Social Security Insurance, Public Assistance, and Section 8 Housing Subsidy; or:
Monthly gross income not to exceed $1,872 for single person household.
Monthly gross income not to exceed $2,538 for married couple or two-person household
Monthly gross income not to exceed $3,204 for a three-person household
All participants must meet age and one of eligibility requirements to get the coupon booklet.
Whitesboro Farmers Market at the Village Green on corners of Main and Clinton streets: Friday, July 20, noon to 2 p.m.
Rome Farmers Market at 200 W. Dominick St. on Rome City Hall Green: Friday, July 20, from noon to 2 p.m.
Oneida County Public Market at the Utica Union Train Station: Saturday, July 21, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Clinton Farmers Market at Village Green: Thursday, July 26, 10 a.m. to noon.
Trenton Farmers Market at the Village Park in Holland Patent.: Saturday, July 28, from 9-11 a.m.
Boonville Farmers Market at Erwin Park: Thursday, Aug. 2, from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Starting Aug. 6, while supplies last, coupons will be available at: Oneida County Office Building, Office for the Aging, 800 Park Ave, First Floor, Utica; and Oneida County Office for the Aging at 300 W. Dominick St., Rome, only between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
