BOONVILLE — State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-47, Rome, announced last week that he has secured $50,000 for the Boonville-Oneida County Fair.

The funding will help the fair make capital improvements to the fairgrounds, which also are used for the New York State Woodsmen’s Field Days.

“The Boonville-Oneida County Fair provides farmers, presenters, vendors and others with the opportunity to showcase their talents and attracts many visitors and families from around the region and elsewhere,” Griffo said. “This is why it is important that the fair, and others across the state, have all the necessary resources to be successful. I know that this funding will be put to good use and will benefit everyone.”

“We would like to thank Sen. Griffo for his efforts in obtaining this funding,” said Boonville-Oneida County Fair President David Hyatt.

“This will allow us to make improvements to the fairgrounds so that we can continue to showcase agriculture in Oneida County,” Hyatt added.

Griffo also recently presented a proclamation to Hyatt and other fair officials commemorating the fair’s 130th anniversary.
