Symphoria announces Summer Concert Series
SYRACUSE — Symphoria kicked off its summer concert series this week.
The orchestra’s summer schedule features 10 free concerts throughout Central New York in July and a special Independence Day performance at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview.
July 4 at 8 p.m.: Full orchestra at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview conducted by Sean O’Loughlin. This is a ticketed event.
July 5 at 7:30 p.m.: Full orchestra at the Village Green in Hamilton.
July 7 at 7:30 p.m.: Full orchestra at Beard Park in Fayetteville. Rain date is July 19.
July 12 at 6:30 p.m.: The Brass Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. following a silent auction to raise money for Symphoria in the Carol Watson Greenhouse in Lafayette.
July 20 at 8 p.m.: Full orchestra at the Women’s Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls featuring guest artist Joanne Shenandoah. Shenandoah is a Grammy Award winner and is considered one of the best Native American musicians of her time.
July 21 at noon: Symphoria String Quartet at Fayetteville Free Library. Performing music of award-winning female composers, this performance is part of Symphoria’s celebration of Women’s Suffrage.
July 21 at 8 p.m.: Full orchestra at Syracuse Inner Harbor featuring guest artist Joanne Shenandoah.
July 22 at 2 p.m.: Symphoria String Quartet at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church in DeWitt. Performing music of award-winning female composers, this performance is part of Symphoria’s celebration of Women’s Suffrage.
July 22 at 7:30 p.m.: Full orchestra at Fort Ontario in Oswego.
July 26 at 7 p.m.: Full orchestra at Austin Park Pavilion in Skaneateles.
July 28 at 8 p.m.: Full orchestra at Fort Stanwix in Rome in conjunction with Honor America Days. The performance will feature the Syracuse Pops Chorus and will be followed by a fireworks display. Rain date is July 29.

Symphoria will again celebrate Independence Day with a special performance at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview on the Fourth of July at 8 p.m. The program includes music from “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” and “The Greatest Showman” as well as patriotic staples such as John Williams’ “The Patriot,” Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” marches by John Phillip Sousa, the Armed Forces Salute and more. The Syracuse Pops Chorus, directed by Lou Lemos, will accompany the performance, and a fireworks display will follow the concert.
