UTICA — Internationally renowned pianist Jeffrey Siegel returns for another season of Keyboard Conversations 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute Sinnott Family – Bank of Utica Auditorium.

Siegel will begin the new season with “Commemorating Rachmaninoff and Debussy,” as 2018 marks the 75th anniversary of the death of Rachmaninoff, and the 100th anniversary of the death of Debussy. Listeners will enjoy the most beloved works of two of the most popular composers of all time – “Clair de lune,” “Prelude in C Sharp Minor,” the “18th Variation on a theme by Paganini,” and narrative short preludes of both composers.

The popular Keyboard Conversations format offers listeners the opportunity to discover the influences that affected the creation of the music presented. Siegel shares details about each composition that lead the audience to realize the subtleties and intricacies of these great works. The evening concludes with a session of questions and answers with Siegel.

Admission is $36.50, $31.50 for MWPAI members. For tickets or more information call 315-797-0055 or 800-754-0797, or go online to mwpai.org.
