Inaugural Woods Fest Music Festival set for Aug. 18 at Woods Valley

WESTERNVILLE — Woods Valley Ski Area and Copper City Brewing Co., in association with Oneida County Tourism, the Heart of New York Beverage Trail and, presents the inaugural Woods Fest Music Festival on Aug. 18.

This festival features bands from throughout Central New York, bridging the Utica-Rome and Syracuse music scenes for one day of family-friendly fun on the slopes of Woods Valley Ski Area. Gates open at 10 a.m. for the 11 a.m. start. Music will run until approximately midnight.

The initial lineup of artists scheduled to perform on the two stages (outdoor stage provided by the City of Rome; inside stage at Tap Room 46 in the chalet) includes: Los Blancos, The Old Main, Les Brers, Mike Powell and John Hanus from the Black River, Nick Piccininni and Jason Barady from Floodwood, the Ron Spencer Band, the Live and Breathe, Remsen Social Club, Follow the Muse, Pocket Change and Work Related.

Tickets for the festival are now available online through the Woods Valley Ski Area website. Advance sale tickets are $20. Day of the show tickets are $25. Children 12 and under get in free with an accompanying adult. Tickets may also be purchased at Copper City Brewing Co., 1111 Oneida St., Rome; and The Snubbing Post, 8221 Rome-Westernville Road, Rome.

The event will feature yoga from Alanna Bone of Just Breathe Yoga Studio, inflatables from Varano Super Jump and several area food trucks.

The Heart of New York Craft Beverage Trail will also have a presence at Woods Fest. Pouring their wares will be: 16 Stone Brew Pub from Holland Patent, Woodland Farm Brewery from Marcy, Copper City Brewing, Villa Verona Winery from Verona and Prospect Falls Winery from Prospect Falls.

The presenting sponsor is Bremer Hearing and Audiology. Other sponsors are: Snubbing Post, Hawkins & Hurlbut Sanitation, Ace Hardware of Rome, Coldwell Banker Faith Realty, Rome Federal Credit Union and Community Bank.

Woods Fest is a one-day, rain or shine, general admission event with no camping. Parking is free. No pets unless they are service animals. Coolers and outside beverages are not allowed. Attendess can bring lawn chair and blankets.
