Area patches to offer various pumpkins
Whether they’re for carving, painting, decorating or making sweet, festive pies, a wide array of pumpkins are ready for the picking out at a local patch near you.
There are orchards and farm stands that are offering U-pick pumpkins with wagon rides, or some are already picked and ready to be brought home to be made into special fright night Halloween decorations.
• Will’s Cackleberry Castle Pumpkin Farm, 1175 Hillsboro Road, Camden
Cackleberry Castle is dedicated to bringing the Halloween spirit and seasonal goods to upstate New York. Cackleberry Castle is a family owned and operated business that is a place for Halloween fun for the entire family.

Thursdays: 4-9 p.m.
Fridays: 4-9 p.m. Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Columbus Day: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Reservations are accepted for field trips and bus tours for Thursdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 315-225-1638 or 315-245-0104. The farm also takes reservations for birthday parties and other celebrations.

Brownies, soup, pumpkin bread, hot and cold cider, cinnamon sugar and cider doughnuts, pumpkin pie, apple pie chili, popcorn, Slushies, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, French fries, hot chocolate, tea and coffee.

• North Star Orchards
North Star Orchards, 4741 Route 233, Westmoreland, will offer U-Pick pumpkins Saturdays and Sundays until the third weekend in October. Wagon rides will also be offered into the pumpkin patch. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A wagon ride and pumpkin is $5.
• Reilly’s Pumpkin Stand
Reilly’s Pumpkin Stand, Route 69 and Mill Pond Way, Taberg, has pumpkins, gourds, squash and Indian corn. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. week days and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 315-245-4665.
• Savicki’s Farm Market
Savicki’s Farm Market, 3295 Route 12, Clinton, will host fall hay rides during the first three weekends in October. A large variety of pumpkins will be available, along with fall mums, cornstalks and straw bales.

Fall Harvest Celebration
Takes place every weekend from mid-September to late October.
Ongoing activities, special events and festival entertainment take place every weekend and appeal to a wide range of ages and interests.
2018 Corn Maze
This year’s corn maze has been designed and installed. This year’s “Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens” corn maze promises to be as challenging and fun as others in the farm’s history. Attendees will be able to enjoy the challenge of the maze, find the information stations, and earn a prize.
The annual Gigantic Corn Maze Critz Critter Animal Area (over 25 animals), music and entertainment on weekends, Critz Café food service cafe (weekends only), Balsam Barn Gift Shop, wagon rides to the apple orchard (weekends only, while supplies last).
Pick your own and pre-picked apples
Wagon rides to the pumpkin field are weekends only. Pick your own and pre-picked pumpkins are available, as well as fresh, sweet apple cider; cider making demonstrations (weekends only); Critz Farms Brewing & Cider Co. Tasting Room serving beer, wine and cider; fall decorating supplies; Kiddie Corral Playground; Slide Mountain Playground; Giant Hay Bale Climbing Tower; cow train ride for kids (weekends only); and Hop House Snack Bar (weekends only).
Weekday Visits to the Fall Harvest Celebration
Critz Farms does not charge a general admission during the week, Monday through Friday, however they do charge a day-use fee for specific activities for non-seasonal pass holders. There is no activity fee for those who only plan to pick apples and pumpkins.
The cost is $4 per person for a visit to the Farmyard Activities Area. This includes access to the Kiddie Corral and Slide Mountain playgrounds, the Giant Hay Bale Climbing Tower, the Critz Critter Animal Area and the Goat Barn and Pasture.
The fee to do the Corn Maze during the week is $4 per person.
If visitors want to visit the Farmyard Activities Area and the Corn Maze, the fee for the combination is $6 per person. If you plan to visit more than once in the season, it is more economical to purchase the season pass.
Visitors can pay for weekday activities Monday through Friday in the Gift Shop from 10 a.m. 5 p.m. Color coded wrist bands will be provided upon payment. Season Pass holders can visit as often as they want for no additional charge.
Bring your Season Pass up to the Gift Shop in the main barn to get your wrist band when you visit the farm Monday through Friday.
Season Passes can be purchased at any time in the gift shop, and are available for a discount when purchased in advance, online.

Corn Maze 2018 Admission Policy
There is an admission charge of $8.50 per person on weekend days during the Fall Harvest Celebration, with a $34.00 per car maximum. Kids under age 2 are free, and seniors are $5. Each paid admission includes a Season Pass which entitles the family to get unlimited free admission to the farm on future visits throughout the season.

The entrance fee covers access to the grounds and facilities as well as to all the on-going activities, events and entertainment. All children receive one free Cow Train ride on their first visit. Purchases of food, pumpkins, merchandise and gifts are extra.
Critz Farm Fall hours
Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Cafe closes at 5 p.m., and is not open during the week).
