Leadership Mohawk Valley announces incoming class of 2019
Leadership Mohawk Valley has announced its class of 2019, leaders from business, government and non-profit organizations exposed to all aspects of the region during their program year, now until June.
This is the 29th year of the program, but this is the first cohort under the newly formed Center for Leadership Excellence, a partnership between Leadership Mohawk Valley and Mohawk Valley Community College, according to the LMV announcement.
The joint effort is intended to address the region’s need for effective, equipped, and engaged community leaders.
The program begins with a day and a half opening retreat in September on Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome campus and at The Root Farm in Sauquoit.
The class then meets one day a month to focus on a specific aspect of the community, the announcement added.
Topics will include human services; health care, health and wellness, education and lifelong learning, economic development and other topics.
