State to send $400,000 for UCP

Upstate Cerebral Palsy and Upstate Caring Partners are getting $400,000 in state funding from the State and Municipal Facilities Program for renovations and repairs throughout Oneida County, state Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-Rome, announced Friday.

With the funding, Upstate Cerebral Palsy will be able to perform work at facilities in Rome, Utica and Chadwicks including upgrading security; replacing classroom floors, doors and catch basins; installing, servicing and upgrading heating, ventilation and air conditioning controls and fire detection systems; and roofing. The work is expected in early 2019.

Upstate Cerebral Palsy, an affiliate of Upstate Caring Partners Inc., provides programs and services to thousands of children and adults with differing abilities and their families. It employs more than 2,000 staff at over 80 locations.
