BARNEVELD — A “Party for a Cause” is being held on Sunday, Aug. 27 to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

The event will be held at Van’s Tavern, 101 Old Remsen Road, from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free. There will be live music from 1-4 p.m. from the Timian Quartet, pink drink specials, food, desserts/bake sale, gift baskets, auction and fun.

The party is being sponsored by team Penguin Platoon, and Team Captain Carol Hamlin Buczek invites everyone to come out and support the cause.

Van’s owner Candy Cahill is donating a portion of proceeds from the sale of food and beverage that day to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Money raised by Making Strides helps the American Cancer Society ensure no one faces breast cancer alone by funding innovative breast cancer research, promoting education and risk reduction, and providing comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
