Colgate still unbeaten on home ice after defeating Dartmouth
HAMILTON — The Colgate hockey team completed its first weekend sweep of the season with a 3-2 win over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at the Class of 1965 Arena.
Colgate remains unbeaten at home this season, moving to 5-0-2. The Raiders had defeated Harvard, 2-1, on Friday night.
Bobby McMann scored twice for the Raiders to take over the team lead with five goals this season. Mike Panowyk also scored for Colgate on a power play during the second period to start the scoring. McCann’s goals came back-to-back, scoring the go-ahead goal in the third period with just over four-and-a-half minutes to go and added an empty net goal with 35.4 seconds remaining in the game.
Goalie Colton Point made 28 saves in the win to extended his unbeaten streak to 10 games, going 6-0-4 during the stretch.
Colgate improves its record to 6-2-4 on the season, 3-0-1 on the ECAC. The Raiders return to action on Friday night as they host Clarkson. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
