‘Women Belong in History’ editor speaks Saturday

NEW HARTFORD — Jane Spellman, editor of the “Women Belong in History Books, Herkimer and Oneida Counties, 1700-1950,” volumes 1 and 2, will be at the Barnes & Noble book store, 4811 Commercial Dr., for a book signing 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The books feature the stories of notable women from both counties — pioneers, adventurers, community leaders, missionaries, artists and authors and educators — who made a difference in the community .

Each volume sells for $25. The books were a project of the “Women Belong in History Books” Committee.
