OLD FORGE — CNY/Arts will hold a Decentralization Grant Seminar at Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18. The Decentralization Program is a regrant program of the state Council on the Arts, made possible by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the state legislature, and administered by CNY Arts, a regional arts council serving Central New York.

CNY Arts provides individual artists, grass-roots organizations, historical associations and cultural institutions with funding to present artistic and cultural events in area communities. Local panels consisting of artists, administrators and community members make the funding decisions. CNY Arts disburses grants in Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Cortland, Onondaga and Oswego counties.

Funding is available for 2018 in:  Community Arts Grants, Individual Artist Commissions and Art Education Grants.

Seminar attendance is required of all applicants this year. Due to the changes in application procedure, anyone interested in the decentralization program is required to attend an informational seminar, webinar or schedule a grants consultation to understand the CNY Arts guidelines and how to prepare an application.  Applicants that do not meet requirements will not be considered for funding.
