OLD FORGE — The View Arts Center will host a drop-in workshop in glass staining and glass fusion on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning this week.

On Tuesdays through Dec. 18, participants will learn to create a small, simple window sun-catcher or a holiday ornament and will learn to cut and grind the glass to fit a pattern. Participants will then, using the copper foil method, solder their piece together.

On Wednesdays through Dec. 19, participants will learn to fuse various pieces of glass together for variety of projects, including holiday ornaments, jewelry sets, vases, votives, small plates, and bowls. Some projects will take multiple firings and a few days before being finished for pick up.

Cost for the course is based on the individual participant’s project. Participants will receive a ticket in each workshop to be paid when they pick up their finished project.

View will also hold weekend workshops throughout the winter, to be instructed by artists specialized in their field.
