Local students receive endowments, scholarships at Clarkson

POTSDAM — The following local students received endowments, sponsorships and scholarships from Clarkson University for the 2017-2018 school year:

• Jonah J. Allen, of Rome, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, received the Gordon W. Babcock ‘46 Endowed Scholarship; Charles E. Becker Memorial Endowed Scholarship; John J. Bero Sr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Anthony J. Ciccone, of Utica, a junior majoring in electrical engineering, received the Arnold and Helen Barben Endowed Scholarship.

• Sean D. McGuigan, of Rome, a sophomore majoring in software engineering, received the Janice L. Campbell Endowed Scholarship.

Matt J. Evans, of Utica, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, received the Janice L. Campbell Endowed Scholarship.

• Jacob G. McEwen, of Blossvale, a junior majoring in computer engineering, received the Janice L. Campbell Endowed Scholarship.

• Ian P. Hetherington, of Lee Center, a senior majoring in engineering and management, received the Crane Family Endowed Scholarship.

Spencer D. Lennon, of Remsen, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, received the DDS Companies Sponsored Scholarship; William D. ‘54 and Shirley Smith Endowed Scholarship.

Benjamin K. Olney, of Rome, a junior majoring in aeronautical engineering, received the Eikenberg Endowed Scholarship.

Mackenzie Lane, of Rome, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, received the James E. Fassett ‘84 Memorial Scholarship.

Tiana M. Martinez, of Lee Center, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, received the Arthur, Eleanor and Jack Mietz Endowed Scholarship.

• Maddy M. Kirk, of Durhamvile, a junior majoring in chemical engineering, received the Nathan and Janet Owen Scholarship.

Andrea Baron, of Utica, a senior majoring in civil engineering, received the Wallace H. Coulter Endowed Scholarship; Nathan and Janet Owen Endowed Scholarship.

• Brandon T. Pugh, of Whitesboro, a junior majoring in electrical engineering, received the Class of 2019 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship In Honor of Katherine H. Wears.

Clarkson is grateful to its many donors of endowed, sponsored, and Share Clarkson scholarships. Scholarship support is essential to providing students with the financial resources necessary.
